There are five main ways
that you can help he work of the Cloud 9 Children's Foundation and through
it, assist those with Asperger's Syndrome - please read on or click a link
below:
1) Support events and campaigns
There are a series of fun events and campaigns that take place to raise awareness and also funds - for example, charity auctions, film nights, sausage sizzles, etc.
By attending an event or perhaps becoming involved as a sponsor of the charity at an event you will be helping the charity and through it, children in need. To contact the charity for more information about supporting an event, email here!
Donations of all sizes are kindly received. The Foundation relies heavily on donations in order to fund the many activities and support groups it runs. Without this support many activities would simply not go ahead.
The Foundation is a Charitable Trust and accepts donations via cheques in all currencies.
Please make your cheque payable to "The Cloud 9 Children's Foundation".
Please send your cheque to - The Foundation Coordinator, The Cloud 9 Children's Foundation, PO Box 30-979, Lower Hutt, New Zealand.
We would love people to volunteer their time to help us out. This may be by helping out with a support group, working in the office or helping at an event.
Many volunteers support the charity - often they may be parents or siblings who have children or relatives with Asperger's Syndrome. There is no "minimum" time - any time you may have spare to help is appreciated and valued.
For more information on helping the charity as a volunteer - and through it, helping the individuals and families with Asperger's Syndrome, email here!
The charity would like to get feedback wherever possible from families and individuals who are affected by Asperger's Syndrome.
We would like to know:
Feedback like this is really useful. It helps the charity know where to focus its resources to maximise the help it can give to people.
To send us feedback please give us a call or email here.
Even if you may not be able to be there for an event, to make a donation or to assist through volunteer help, there are still ways you can support the charity, help others and make positive change by "spreading the word".
You may know someone who has Asperger's Syndrome and they may be interested to check out this website. Many people have no idea about Asperger's Syndrome or have an incorrect perception of it. By reading and learning about this condition, your knowledge can be used to educate others.
The more people know about Asperger's Syndrome the better. The more people talk, the more people understand it. The more people understand it, the higher the profile of this condition and we start to create a more understanding attitude in society - and this can only be a good thing!
